Liquid have advanced to the grand final at cs_summit 2 after beating SK 2-0 (19-17 on Cobblestone and 16-11 on Train).
Liquid and SK faced off in a best-of-three series in the consolidation final at cs_summit 2 to decide which team would face Cloud9 in the grand final. The series kicked off on Cobblestone with the Brazilian squad on the T-side.
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo & company picked up the pistol round but ran out of time in the following two rounds as Liquid took the lead (2-1). Liquid made it 7-1 without breaking a sweat and extended their lead to 9-1 thanks to Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski's quad kill in a 3vs4 and triple kill in a 3vs3 in consecutive rounds. Liquid closed out the first half 13-2.
SK responded strongly when they switched over to the CT-side, winning the first five rounds in the second half to trail 7-13. Liquid were able to earn five match points but SK completed the comeback to take it to overtime. Liquid came alive in overtime to win the map 19-17.
Train was the second map and the T-sided Liquid won the pistol and anti-eco rounds (3-0). SK won the first weapon round and, later on, took the lead (5-4). Nick "nitr0" Cannella clutched a 1vs2 to tie the game once again and Liquid took charge on the offense to lead 9-6 at halftime.
nitr0 picked up two opening kills on the CT-side and the North Americans extended their lead to 12-6 after winning the anti-ecos. Liquid won a full eco when they were leading 14-11 as nitr0 got two kills after going down to one health points. They closed out the map 16-11 and won the series 2-0 to book their spot in the grand final.
